THE GUERRILLA ANGEL REPORT — Kelly Young died at a hospital after being found by authorities in a West Baltimore, Maryland home following reports of a shooting on Wednesday. Her identity has apparently been confirmed by her family.

It is too early to know if this is a hate crime, said Baltimore City Police spokesperson Sergeant Eric Kowalczyk, however, Young’s sister, Monique Mack did say she ‘would not be letting them sweep this murder under the rug.’

There are no further details regarding the murder at this time, however, the police are asking for the public’s help: Baltimore City Police Homicide Division at (410) 396-2100.

Police: Too early to call transgender woman’s death a hate crime.

  1. I am glad they used her correct gender.
The spokesperson’s comment makes me wonder what other murders they have “swept under the rug” and what qualifies those murders for such sweeping.

  2. A correction: In the original article, the comment about not letting this get “swept under the rug” was made by Kelly’s sister, not the Police Sergeant.

  3. May Kelly rest in peace and may her murderer be brought to justice soon.
