Just when you thought it might be safe to go to Church again
THE GUERRILLA ANGEL REPORT — What is this? Open season to unload hate in the name of God? I had to add another pastor to the photo array. Just a few days ago I wrote a post about two pastors who called for the death of of LGBT people. They were Charles L. Worley, Pastor of Providence Road Baptist Church in Maiden, North Carolina, and Mississippi state Rep. Andy Gipson, who is reportedly a minister at an undisclosed Baptist church. The latest is Pastor Curtis Knapp of New Hope Baptist Church in Seneca, Kansas. He said this last Sunday to his congregation:
“If there is a man who lies with a male as those who lie with a woman, both of them have committed a detestable act; they shall surely be put to death. Oh, so you’re saying we should go out and start killing them, no? I’m saying the government should. They won’t, but they should.”
Pastor Knapp continues:
“. . . Is it His word or not? If it’s His word, he commanded it. It’s His idea, not mine. And I’m not ashamed of it.’”He said put them to death Shall the church drag them in? No, I’m not say [sic] that. The church has not been given the power of the [sic] sort; the government has. But the government ought to [kill them]. You got a better idea? A better idea than God?’”

I really don’t have much to add here except to hope a groundswell of support within religious communities for pastors to perhaps police each other.

OMG!! You know what it is. They are ratcheting up the hate because Pres. Obama came out in support of samesex marriage. Fight fire with brimstone, as it were. Still, these are scary times. Hopefully these loons are isolated enough that the faithful won’t gather in a mob with torches and come looking for us!
this is what i have been worrying about a lot of followers in these churches get these crazy thoughts in there head well the pastor said to do it so lets go do it.
and some people wonder why I am an atheist. I want to know when these “supposed men of god” are going to start OBEYING their bible and MURDERING everyone who works on the sabbath?

I agree that this upsurge in hate from conservative Christians is a backlash from Obama’s support of gay marriage. It’s going to take some of these people a few decades to enter the 21st century.

Read the scripture and take it at face value, it refers to Gay Men only not to the rest of the spectrum. I dont advocate killing anyone but that poor passage from Leviticus has been stretched beyond recognition. To the best of my knowledge the bible says nothing about Transsexuals, Lesbians or Bi’s.
