THE GUERRILLA ANGEL REPORT — From a tweet: “This is what ‘the best soldiers on Earth’ are reduced to. Stripping & stomping on a veiled woman in the street in Egypt”. The international community is outraged at the Egyptian military’s targeting of female activists.

I do understand that revolutions can be ugly and brutal, but these are soldiers of a quasi-democratic government that only recently overthrown a long-time dictator. If they’re now oppressing women and their own people with tactics like these then they, too, need to be overthrown.

From Egypt Independent: ” . . . five human rights organizations accused military rulers of exercising “unprecedented violence against protesters, with the targeting of female activists being a distinctive feature of the proceedings to disperse sit-ins, as depicted in pictures and video clips showing protesters being arrested, beaten, dragged and stripped of their clothes.”

From Int’l Business times: “Arab affairs commentator Sultan Al Qassemi claimed that Ahmed Almasry, a photographer who took the photo [shown] , said he is now being accused of distorting the images of Egypt.”

I don’t know about you, but the saying a picture is worth a thousand words is most apt here.
